What a water heater service covers
On a commercial gas water heater we check the burner, ignition and flame detection, the gas valve and working pressures, the flue and air supply, and the temperature and overheat safety controls. Combustion readings are taken and recorded at the end, and anything unsafe is written down and explained.
Why industrial sites rely on them
On a factory or warehouse, one gas water heater often supplies the washrooms, wash-down points and cleaning areas for the whole site. When it trips, staff notice straight away. A planned service keeps it burning cleanly, catches worn parts before they fail, and gives you a written record of every check for your insurer or landlord.
Repairs and breakdowns
If a unit has locked out, will not light or is not reaching temperature, we fault-find it properly rather than just resetting it. We provide 24/7 call-out, including evenings and weekends, on 07882 898492.

Paperwork
Service records (CP15) are issued on the day, and pipework tightness testing (CP16) can be done on the same visit. Water heaters can be added to a maintenance contract alongside your heating and process plant.

Questions we get asked
How often should a commercial gas water heater be serviced?
At least once a year. Units that run hard, or sites with hard water, may need more frequent visits, which we can build into a maintenance contract.
Will we lose hot water while you service it?
Only for the time the unit is isolated and being worked on. We agree the timing with you first, so washrooms and cleaning areas are not left without hot water at a busy time.
Do you service water heaters on schools, care homes or hotels?
No. SMR works on industrial and commercial sites such as factories, warehouses and workshops. Our sister company AAC Gas (aacgas.co.uk) covers schools, care homes, offices, shops and hotels.
