The site
A commercial unit on Walton Summit, Preston, not far from our base at Higher Walton. The building is open plan, with a gas-fired water heater fed by yellow gas pipework.
The work
In November 2017 we serviced the site's commercial gas water heater. A service on a unit like this covers the burner, ignition and flame detection, the gas valve and working pressures, the flue and the temperature and overheat safety controls, with combustion readings taken and recorded at the end.
Why it matters
A commercial water heater often supplies hot water for washing and cleaning across the whole site, and staff notice straight away when it stops. Regular servicing keeps it burning cleanly, catches worn parts before they fail and gives the site a written record of every check. Being minutes away at Higher Walton means a quick response if it does trip.
