Common faults we fix
Burner lockouts and flame failure, ignition faults, failed gas valves and pressure switches, faulty flame detection, fan and air-proving faults, control panel and sequencing problems on multi-boiler plant rooms, and boilers short-cycling or failing to reach temperature. We carry combustion analysers and test equipment, so we can find the cause rather than just resetting the lockout.
Fault-finding on the control panel
Many repeat lockouts trace back to the burner control box, a sensor or a wiring fault rather than the boiler itself. We go through the control sequence step by step, check each safety device in turn and confirm the fix with combustion readings before we leave. On Roman Way, Red Scar and Preston East, older plant rooms often have controls that have been altered over the years, and getting to the real fault saves repeat call-outs.
Repair or replace?
If a boiler is near the end of its life, we will say so honestly and give you the cost of keeping it going against the cost of replacing it, so you can decide. Finance is available on larger jobs.
