The site
A warehouse and stores unit in the Lancaster area, with stock stacked below a gas-fired warm air heater hung from the steelwork and connected to overhead ducting.
The work
In June 2021 we serviced the warehouse's gas-fired warm air heater, shown here in place on its gas supply above the racking. A warm air heater service covers the burner and heat exchanger, the fan and its proving, the gas valve and pressures, the flue and the safety controls, with combustion readings recorded. A summer visit, as here, means the heater is ready before the heating season rather than being looked at once it has already failed.
Why it matters
Warehouses with gas heating often have just a few large heaters doing all the work, so losing one in winter leaves a big cold area. A quick off-season service keeps the building warm and the staff working when the weather turns.
